With multiple sites in Shalford, Dunsfold, Warwick and a new purpose-built HQ on its way in Windlesham, the Gordon Murray Group continues to grow with multiple vehicle programmes currently in development. As a result, we currently have exciting opportunities for a Project manager to join our facility based in Shalford
Responsibilities:
- Assist in development of Programme Management Processes, Procedures and Documentation.
- Lead the Programme Planning activity within the Programme function and work closely with functional planning roles to ensure full alignment of plans and clear identification and management of critical path and timing risks.
- Facilitate the Engineering Timing Release Schedule, through regular review sessions with the relevant Project Engineering teams.
- Support development and documentation of programme scope through Product Development Letter or equivalent.
- Supporting Concept and Engineering teams in maintaining and ensuring change control application to Vehicle Technical Specification
- Working with the Programme Manager, to maintain spend control and ensure project activities operating within financial budget constraints.
- Lead project teams to ensure documentation and planning activities are completed and maintained in line with the overall project requirements
- Support the Programme Manager at major project reviews/milestones and progress chase actions arising
- Support activities to develop and manage Programme and Functional KPIs
- Work with functional teams to manage BoM accuracy, cost, weight, timing information
- Work closely with Vehicle Development team to have robust vehicle, system and component validation plans to deliver the Programme and Product requirements.
- Support to the Programme Manager and Engineering teams in day-to-day activities
- Coordinate with Principal Engineers and the Programme Manager to ensure technical targets, program timings and budgetary requirements are met
- Progress chase Open Issues to ensure progress is in line with the plan
- Highlighting of risks and issues which impact project timings, budget or quality
- Managing the administration of specific tasks across all projects
- Liaise with the Prototype Workshop to provide feasible design solutions and support workshop activities pre, during and post-vehicle build
- Monitor programme variations e.g. change to scope, cost, timing etc.
- Identify and highlight any areas for continuous improvement
Experience and Qualifications:
- It is anticipated that you will have 3 years relevant automotive experience at an appropriate consultancy or OEM
- You will be educated to a degree level in an engineering discipline
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentation)
- Excellent inter-personal skills; able to influence, persuade and negotiate with all levels
- Proficient with MS Office365, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, Project and Word
- Professional and comfortable with discussions with all levels of the business
- Experience of end-to-end projects (in a coordinator / support capacity)
- Able to demonstrate organisation skills and ability to work well under pressure
- Naturally proactive and able to support the Programme Managers in driving projects forward
- Ability to cope under pressure and ensure deadlines are met
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- Personable and willing to accept additional responsibility
- Highly results orientated; strong drive to deliver
- Experience in organisational change and implementation of KPIs
- Confident and highly motivated
