We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Quality & Inspection Engineer.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for completing first article inspections
• Capture quality concerns in the prototype & production build processes and facilitate root cause analysis & corrective actions, and perform verification of corrective actions
• Manage temporary containment in the GMA assembly process including approval of component rework and process deviation
• Manage Non-Conforming, Scrap & reject-return processes
• Support the Senior Quality Engineer to define & update the GMA measurement & inspection strategy
• Responsible for the creation, analysis and application of testing and inspection procedures
• Establish in-process quality gateways for the GMA assembly process
• Support the DFMEA & lead the PFMEA activity
• Support the team to set-up the GMA manufacturing facilities
• Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of GMA Manufacturing Control Plans
• Support the development and maintenance of documented work instructions to support the control plan
• Support Senior Engineer to complete final vehicle audit
• Support the Senior Quality Engineer activity relating to Type Approval & Conformity of Production
• Support new product launches to ensure that product quality meets the required standards
• Facilitate the escalation of unresolved quality issues
• Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in order to adhere to process and prevent occurrence of any non-conformity relating to product, process or system
• Review manufacturing processes and collaborate with engineers on process improvement & value enhancement opportunities
• Liaise with internal departments in order to carry out ‘internal quality audits’ to ensure adherence toISO9001 certification.
Experience and Qualifications:
• Metrology, Inspection Methods and Equipment including measurement arm experience
• Understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings
• Understanding of manufacturing processes
• Working knowledge of problem solving methodologies e.g. 8D
• Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment
• Technical expertise in composites (structural or visual/painted panels), bonding, plastic mouldings, exterior trim, as well as experience and knowledge in assembly processes (4-7 years)
• Working knowledge of ISO9001:2015
• Planning and prioritizing of activities
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Negotiation skills
• Ability to present data effectively
• Understanding of Health and Safety practices
