Work with R&D, Engineering and Manufacturing teams on physical testing and development of both current and new metallic and composite solutions for the improvement of all iStream® technologies. This will include involvement in creating test criteria, specifications and rigs as well as running tests and test machines, collating and interpreting results and determining what technical data and information is required. The role also involves maintaining and cleaning the lab and equipment as required, and ordering and inventory of consumables. The person filling the role will be the lead R&D Technician at Dunsfold within the company with respect to iStream structures development.
The chosen candidate must:
Have a proven history of working with composites / adhesives and metallic structures, preferably in a R&D environment. Be computer literate, and have a good working knowledge of Microsoft packages incl. Excel. Be a self-starter and motivated to seek out and question results. Be tidy, organised, enthusiastic and pro-active.
Preferred skills of the chosen candidate:
Knowledge of test systems and equipment incl. Instron (Console and Wavematrix) software. Knowledge of CATIA V5 /ability to create 3D models and drawings. Knowledge of welding an advantage. Knowledge of metallurgical destructive testing. Welding robot teaching / programming and vehicle OEM environment experience desirable
